We use lines constantly to divide, point, measure, mark, etc. This is a tool of lines that can be used to transform a space.

Each time the kit is set up, the user responds to the site. It can be used to obscure a space or highlight a portion of it. The tool can be used to make evident a pattern of use, or a power relationship among those who occupy a space. It can change an environment all together, by adding a "wall", blocking a passage, or forcing occupants to take different routes or postures. It can be set up by the artist or, ideally, by people who make use of the space.
